Somalia, on the coast of West Africa near the golf of Aden, is essentially the only area within planet earth which has no government.  Somalia was formerly a democracy, until power was seized by a military coup which for 20 long years ran a dictatorship of socialism and cruelty until in 1991 the people threw out both the dictator and the government.
Somalia is thus shown for it's history and it's example of how mankind can survive, and progress, without government.  We will soon be adding much more information and many articles about Somalian news, people, and events.
Far the best, and most objective, history is Peter T. Leeson's "Better off Stateless", which should be required reading for anyone seeking to understand the history of Somalia over the past half-century.   The original is a PDF file, I'm not sure the link works right, but try that if you'd rather.  It would be useful if you wish to download and preserve.

This is your suggested starting point for understanding both Somalia and anarchy.

I have never been to Somalia and have no plans to move there or to visit there.  It is 99% Islam which I don't understand, and religion is not my thing, anyway.  And it's people speak some other language, making it ridiculous to consider.

Because it is a successful anarchy, tho, it is the best and virtually only anarchy by which we may draw some insight and example.

This is simply a beginning.  There are ongoing efforts to governmentalize Somalia, we will try to report that news.
