US Joins Ranks of Failed States

The US has every characteristic of a failed state.

The US government?s current operating budget is dependent on foreign financing and money creation.

Too politically weak to be able to advance its interests through diplomacy, the US relies on terrorism and military aggression.

Costs are out of control, and priorities are skewed in the interest of rich organized interest groups at the expense of the vast majority of citizens. For example, war at all cost, which enriches the armaments industry, the officer corps and the financial firms that handle the war?s financing, takes precedence over the needs of American citizens. There is no money to provide the uninsured with health care, but Pentagon officials have told the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee in the House that every gallon of gasoline delivered to US troops in Afghanistan costs American taxpayers $400.

  • Well, good old passivist Roberts did get one thing ALMOST right in his article: “In any failed state, the greatest threat to the population comes from the government and the police. That is certainly the situation today in the USA. Americans have no greater enemy than their own government. Washington is controlled by interest groups that enrich themselves at the expense of the American people.”

I believe the greatest threat to the population comes from the US federal government – whether or not the state is failed. The US federal government is what CAUSES a state to fail, not private enterprise, not unions (though I hate unions), not the wealthy, not medical care, not big CEOs – the US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT is the violator as it is not doing its job, and hasn’t for years and years.

He would obviously prefer our government provide more socialist programs such as health care over our sovereignty and military standing. I disagree vehemently with this assessment. Our federal government’s primary purpose is military intervention when necessary, and the constitution says nothing about how many dollars a gallon of gasoline costs the taxpayers – and Congress could change this overnight if they so chose to, but they are busy trying to find a way to short-circuit the constitution and shove unwanted and exceedingly expensive health care down our throats.

There may have been a time when I could agree with Roberts on a thing or two, but time sharpens awareness, and I have concluded he and I are not on the same side.

C’mon, Texas. Hurry up and secede so at least some of us can once again live in a free county. The politicians and gimmes have all but destroyed the USA.

  • Author whines a bit about the US war machine and no healthcare which we can understand, but it seems placed within more to prove his main pint of Failed State.

The USA IS a failed state. Well, failure in progress, not just yet but on the unavoidable path. It’s really very simple, just ask how people can pay their share of the debt that Gov has piled upon their unwilling backs.

When it’s lost, write it off, and seek something next go-round which meets the test of Liberty is Moral. It will save you from having to wish all over again.
